SOUTHERN MOTORCAR ENDURO
Effective date of these rules is October 1,
2000.
Interpretation of all rules is left to the
discretion of the Miami Speedway as to the spirit and intent of the rules
herein.
If it doesnt say it dont do it the absence of a specific rules does not imply consent,
approval or permission regarding that subject.
If you do not read about it, do not touch it
or change it in any way or you will be illegal.
The definition of stock means no
modifications to factory parts or factory specifications.
The absence of a specific rule does not

Any questions or doubts regarding such
matters should be directed to an Miami Speedway Official.
The Miami Speedway Management will make any further
definition and interpretation of these rules only.
Car entry fee for pre-registration will be
$75.00 up to five (5) days before the scheduled event and then
$125.00 up to the race day.
Purse will be as follows
- 1ST $1500.00
- 2nd $ 600.00
- 3rd $ 400.00
- 4th $ 200.00
Car entry fee does not include pit entry.
Car entry fee is non-refundable unless event
is cancelled.
If entry is sold to another party Speedway
Office must be notified.
Scoring. Every entry must provide their own
scorer.
A special area will be reserved for scorers.
They can follow the instructions on the
scorecards.
The scorer will get score card from the
50/50 booth, before the race.
Head Scorers decision if FINAL.
ENDURO
Heres what an Enduro is all about, up
to 250 cars will all begin at the same time.
The first car to complete 150 laps will be
the winner.
There will be no pit stops.
This is all out green flag racing.
Each driver will have a scorer to score the car by using the flop clock like
NASCAR uses.
RULES, REGULATIONS AND
PROCEDURES
- Any driver climbing out of their car
during the red flag will be disqualified. No exceptions
- The race will be started with the cars
three abreast.
- Cars will start from a standing start
and will not move until the green flag is displayed.
- The yellow flag will not be used. If
there are cars with breakdowns or crashed the other cars
will avoid them while continuing to race. The Push Car
will help any endangered or disabled cars off the racing
surface. STAY in your car with full safety gear in place
until the red flag is displayed and you are told by a
race official to exit your car.
- The red flag will be displayed if the
track becomes blocked and racing can not continue or a
disabled car puts it driver in an unsafe condition.
- There will be no pit stops permitted,
if you drive through the infield or onto the backstretch
or into the pit area you are automatically out of the
race. No crewman, tools spare tires, etc permitted in the
track infield area during the race. This will be
enforced.
- The Flagman will show the white flag
that will indicate the leader on the last lap.
- After safety inspection of the car and
driver there will be no drive changes allowed.
- A mandatory meeting for all drivers
will be held on race day. This meeting will be before the
"Enduro Race".
- Race may be run clockwise or
counter-clockwise.
- The track reserves the right to claim
any entry for $500.00. Fuel cells, five (5) point racing
harness and racing seat are exempt form this rule.
Failure to sell your car will result in disqualification
and forfeit of all winnings for the race the date the car
is claimed.
- No 2 way radios or scanners allowed.
- All cars must have proof of ownership.
- Cars not removed from "Hialeah
Speedway" property within on hour after completion
of the event become property of the Miami Speedway, no exceptions.
- When the red flag comes out you must
stop as quick as you can, where you are at on the racing
surface in a safe manner. If you dont you will be
put back to where you belong.
- If you are black-flagged you are to
leave the racing surface as quick as you can in a safe
manner. Once you are black- flagged and you do not heed
the flag you will no longer be scored.
- Any loss of a wheel or tires requires
you to be black-flagged and you are to leave the racing
surface immediately.
- Rupture of your fuel tank requires you
to be black-flagged and you are to leave the racing
surface immediately.
- Car numbers are assigned on first come
first served basis with entry paid. Numbering must be at
least 18" tall in a contrasting color on both doors
and the roof. Number must readable from scorers
booth. No gestures, symbols or profanity will be allowed.
- Any "RACE CAR DRIVER" must
start at the back of the field.
- No "CYCLONE CARS" are allowed
to run in the "Enduro Race". The drivers may if
its not a "CYCLONE CAR".
- All other Miami Speedway and Speedway rules,
regulations and procedure apply to this event (Please see
Speedway Office or website for your copy.
THE CAR AND BODY
- Any 1965 or newer sedan or station
wagon is eligible. No convertible or pickup truck
allowed.
- Minimum stock wheelbase allowed is
108". No sub-compact cars allowed.
- Mandatory safety items include window
net, racing shoes, gloves, fire suit, eye protection,
fire extinguisher in drivers reach and Snell approved
helmet. Five point racing harness is optional and highly
recommended.
- Roll bars are optional and highly
recommended for driver protection. A single roll over bar
and one driver door protection bar are the maximum bars
allowed. Minimum pipe size 11/2", .095 wall
thickness. No four point cages allowed.
- The roll bar may not reinforce the body
or the frame or alter the geometry of the car but serve
only to hold the car off the driver when overturned as a
safety measure. The bars must remain within the
drivers area. At no time may they dissect, bisect
or pass through the firewall.
- No bracing anywhere of any kind.
- Bumpers may be chained to keep from
falling off.
- All doors must be welded, bolted or
chained shut.
- All glass must be removed except for
the windshield.
- Complete bumper to bumper steel unibody
must be retained.
- Cars must remain strictly stock. The
stock steel unaltered floor pan, firewalls, trunk and
trunk floor must be retained. Inner front fender well may
be cut or removed. No sectioning, chopping, shortening or
channeling allowed. Body sheet metal must be kept in
place at all times. No gutting of any type permitted
unless stated in these rules.
- Front hood latch must be removed. Hood
must be secured with hood pins in the front only. Stock
hood hinges must remain.
- Headlights and taillights must be
removed. All interior upholstery must be removed, back
seat, headliner, door trim panels, carpet, etc. Only
drivers seat is to remain. Racing seat okay.
- Complete metal firewall must seal trunk
area from drivers compartment. Any holes in front
firewall or interior floor must be patched with at least
.22" gauge sheet metal.
- All cars must have complete glass or
lexan front windshield. No dirt track screens allowed.
- Gas tanks must be original and must
remain in stock location and be strapped with two (2)
steel straps front to back and two (2) steel straps side
to side and bolted with nuts and bolts only. Fuel cell
okay. Max 22 gallons. Fuel cell must be mounted in the
center of the trunk and must be strapped front to rear
and side to side. Trunk lid latch must be removed. Fuel
cell must have .22" gauge can and roll over check
valve in the vent line foam.
- Battery may be relocated anywhere under
the hood or in the drivers area. If relocated in
the drivers area battery must be in a battery box
with a cover and secured with nuts and bolts only. No
removing of metal to install battery.
SUSPENSION
- No modifying of the suspension is
allowed.
- Camber: No more than three (3) degrees
camber max. This will be checked before the race with
driver and car safety items.
- Suspension parts must remain absolutely
stock for that make and model of car. No spacers, lumber
or chains, etc may be used to alter stock suspension.
- Shocks must be stock or stock
replacement. Front shocks must be exact same and rear
shocks must be exact same. No racing shocks allowed.
WHEELS
- Wheel width maximum seven (7) inches
stock offset.
- No racing wheels. White spoke wheels
with seven (7) inch width and stock offset okay.
- One (1) inch lug nuts okay. No racing
studs.
TIRES
- All four tires must be same size
(example all four 225/75/15).
- Tires must be stock D.O.T. radial
passenger car tires. No truck tires, no fancy exotic
trick gumball tires of any kind, no trailer tires.
- Maximum tire size P235/70 series or
metric equivalent.
- No shaving, grooving or tire treatments
allowed.
ENGINE
- The engine must be strictly stock for
that make and model and its original mounts. No factory
hi performance parts. No factory special order cars.
- Heads must be stock for that make and
model of engine being used.
- Double roller timing chain and steel
timing gear okay. No keyway gears allowed. No hi GH
performance gears or chains.
- Air conditioner parts, smog pumps,
power steering pumps and alternator may be removed.
- Exhaust must be run under the car and
behind the driver and be stock for make and model of
engine being used. No headers of any kind. Dual exhaust
okay.
- Refer to page one (1) for definition of
stock.
CARBURETOR
- One stock 2-barrel or one stock
4-barrel original equipment carburetor with choke plate
only.
- No front-load carburetors unless that
is what came with the car.
TRANSMISSION AND REAR END
- Stock transmission and rear-end only.
No modifications of any kind. Gears must be stock for
make and model of car you are using. No factory high
performance equipment allowed. No locked rear ends of any
kinds. This includes limited slip rear ends. No rear disk
brake rear ends.
- Stock transmission cooler only.
INSPECTION
Pits will open for "Enduro Cars"
at 2:30 PM. Cars will be inspected for safety before the race.
There will be no exceptions to the safety rules.
INTERPRETATION OF ALL RULES ARE LEFT TO THE
DISCRETION OF THE SFRA AS TO THE SPIRIT AND THE INTENT OF THE
